Mateo Perez is an experienced attorney with more than 25 years of legal practice representing individuals, public agencies, and governmental entities throughout New Jersey. His areas of expertise include employment and labor law, immigration matters, landlord-tenant disputes, civil litigation, real estate, and administrative proceedings.
Mr. Perez began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Superior Court of New Jersey under the Honorable Mark J. Nelson, where he prepared bench memoranda, drafted legal opinions, and conducted legal research. He has since served in numerous public positions, including Welfare Attorney, municipal prosecutor, Enforcement Counsel for the Hudson County Improvement Authority, and attorney for multiple housing authorities.
Since 2000, Mr. Perez has maintained a private law practice representing clients in litigation, immigration proceedings, employment disputes, landlord-tenant matters, and real estate issues. He currently serves as Assistant Division Director for the Hudson County Division of Social Services, reflecting his longstanding commitment to public service and advocacy throughout New Jersey.
