Lisa Davenport is an experienced family law attorney and mediator. She graduated from Columbia University Cum Laude with a B.A. in Economics and attended Brooklyn Law School where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. Prior to joining the law firm of Kim & Bae, Ms. Davenport worked for several boutique law firms in New Jersey which specialized in the practice of family law matters.

She also generously donated her time as a volunteer attorney with Northeast New Jersey Legal Services where she advised and represented indigent clients in family law and domestic violence cases. Before entering the private practice of law, Ms. Davenport clerked for the Hon. Philip B. Cummis of the New Jersey Superior Court, Essex County, Family Part.

Approximately one year later, the Essex County Family Division asked Ms. Davenport to return to the Essex County Family Court to clerk for the Hon. Torkwase Sekou. Prior to working in New Jersey, Ms. Davenport worked for nearly ten years for the King County Prosecutor’s Office in and near Seattle, Washington. There, she worked diligently in the Domestic Violence Unit’s Protection Order Program assisting plaintiffs in obtaining restraining orders from filing through appeal. During law school, Ms. Davenport had the honor and privilege of completing several prestigious internships for judges including the Hon.

Sondra Miller of the New York State Appellate Division, Second Dept., the Hon. Katherine Roberts who presided in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the Hon. George C. Pratt, who sat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. During her internship with Judge Pratt, Ms. Davenport provided legal advice and guidance to the Hon. Michael B. Mukasey, former Attorney General of the United States.
